I have been in the cheerleading business for over 15 years. I have experienced the sport from both the position of cheerleader and cheerleading coach. Through my extensive experiences in working with all levels of cheerleaders, as both a teammate and a coach, I have discovered my true talent; TEACHING!
I have learned that anyone can develop and succeed with the right technique and the right training environment. My knowledge and expertise coupled with the ability to TEACH proper technique is the advantage that CheerTyme Cheerleading has to offer.
Currently, I am the coach of the The Ohio State University All-Girl Cheer Team. I founded the team in the 1998-1999 academic year. After having cheered on the Varsity team at Ohio State and seeing the great amount of talent that did not make the cut, I thought of the concept of an all-girl team. The idea was to provide an alternative to the coed program for those CheerAthletes that were great cheerleaders, but better suited for an all-girl team. The program is in its ninth full year and is taking off like wildfire. In our first year, the team took 14th place at NCA College Nationals. Since then, we have captured 13th, two 12th places and two births into finals finishing 7th both times. In our ninth season we are returning 25 of 28 members of the team and look forward to an exciting and succesful year.
Between practices and events with the team, I look forward to each opportunity I get to work with various cheerleading teams around the country. The majority of my work can be seen by watching cheerleading competitions where you can catch several of the routines that I have choreographed. I have put together routines for several national championship squads and countless other teams whom consistently recieve comments on their score sheets about their creative and exciting choreography.
What I enjoy most is working one on one with teams to help them improve their basic tumbling, stunting and cheer skills. There is a tremendous amount of pride and satisfaction in seeing someone improve by using knowledge I taught them. I always try to give a team or an individual a sense of confidence and accomplishment so that their achievements are a boost and their next goal is a motivation. Leaving a team with some of the right tools to continue to improve throughout the whole year is a means to creating a successful end.
I feel blessed to be able to make a living doing what I love the most. I look forward to hearing from you and I am excited about the great things that I can do for your team.
If you are ready to go to the next level, then it's time. . .for CheerTyme!
