Coaches, Demonstrators and All Supporters,
I would like to thank all of you for bringing your teams to the Pop Warner Detroit area cheer and dance camp hosted by Joey Delaney and the Ohio State All Girl Cheer Team. I know many of you had long days on Saturday and Sunday was also a long day. But we were tremendously excited to present the camp to the girls on your teams. We truely hope you appreciated the camp, the facility, the pop warner staff as well as the material and instructors whom all made the experience possible. We enjoyed working with your teams and hope you will take a lot away from camp and be able to incorporate some of those things into your individual teams' game day and competition repitoire.
As promised, I have posted the cheer and sidelines from the three groups here on the website. If you click directly on the link, it will take a few second (or more depending on your internet speed) to play the video right there on your windows media player. If you right click and choose "save target as" you can name a location on your computer (desktop is easiest to find) and it will save the video on your computer for playback whenever or how ever often you choose. Once that video is saved on your computer, a basic DVD burning program will burn it to a DVD. I would suggest that you have one of your kids or a parent download and burn the material for you if you don't know how. I am sure someone on your teams will have the knowledge and capability to do so. I again apologize for not being able to to have that done for you at the actual camp.
The music for the unity dance is also available by right clicking and choosing "save target as". The unity dance can be done to any music. I encourage you to make friends with the other cheer teams you encounter all season and teach them the unity dance as well before or after the game so that by time you all reach your end of the season cheer competition, you will have a dance that everyone at the competition can do together!
Thanks again for everyone's attendance and participation at the camp. More importantly, I would like to also thank all of you for taking the time and effort to be volunteer coaches and make a difference in these kids lives. Remember that you may do or say one little thing off balance, off cuff, off color or as a second thought that might destroy a kids confidence, self-image, self-esteem or pride. We must be magnificent role models 100% of the time. But on the flip side, it's just one little comment or action that might not mean a thing to you that absolutely is a shining star of inspiration or example that one kid may need to propell them into a bright future in the next day, year or lifetime! Keep up the great work!
